Part of a group of negatives taken for August 26, 1958, Arkansas Gazette article "Uncle Will's Fiddle Sang for '49ers," B1:2. Mary Cruces Bennett is pictured with her Great Uncle William H. Conner's violin. Conner played the violin for, and traveled with gold-seekers from Saint Joseph, Missouri on their way to California in 1849. Bennett lives in Siloam Springs, Benton County, Arkansas.
